The episodes of flooding are constant in critical areas in the city of Boa Vista/RR, being mainly due to the flatness of the relief combined with the soil sealing caused by urban development, and such episodes cause financial, material and even human losses. In order to reduce this problem, this work proposed to present two equations that demonstrate the relationship Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) of precipitation in the region, considering the rainfall records of a station maintained by INMET, one referring to the total period of data (1961-2022) and other considering the last 20 years of data. The Gumbel distribution of extremes and the daily rainfall disaggregation coefficients were applied to define the equation. The consideration of the partial period of records presented a more intense maximum rainfall regime, and this equation was used to verify the impacts on the urban drainage system of the city. The IDF equation generated was applied in a microdrainage project developed and executed by the Municipality of Boa Vista, where it was found that the intensities had an average increase of 10.26%, however, due to divergence in the application of conceptual design guidelines, the estimated flows had an increase of up to 1081% in certain stretches, changing considerably the expected sizing. The situation presented can be one of the factors that, associated with the lack of maintenance and periodic cleaning of the components, cause flooding in regions that are already equipped with urban drainage systems in the city.

Bodies of water present in the urban environment are important providers of ecosystem services and despite this, they are the ones that most face problems such as the impairment of their biota and natural functions because of predatory and unplanned urbanization processes. During the last two decades, the city of Boa Vista - RR has experienced large population growth, changing the urban fabric in a disorderly way. Where the fluvial environment of the Cauamé River was and still is the target of the growing advance of legal and illegal occupations, receiving direct and indirect interventions that do not benefit the preservation of the ecosystem. The environmental risk situations in this area are directly linked to the location of the area where urban expansion occurs and the main environmental problems relate to irregular land occupation, real estate speculation, environmental degradation caused by the removal of riparian forests, and domestic pollution by the account of the lack of sanitation in some neighborhoods and illegal occupations. Such problems interfere with water quality and, consequently, the local ecosystem and the quality of life of the city's population. Given these facts, it is necessary to evaluate the possibilities of revitalization, where necessary, and preservation of the river environment of the lower Cauamé river region, which is inserted within the urban perimeter of the city, adopting approaches that consider the local ecosystem, the natural geometry of the river with its roughness, depressions and sills, and the reintroduction of native vegetation. In addition to establishing the main techniques that can be used in the revitalization process and determining the main factors of human interference that lead to the loss of the environmental characteristics of water bodies. To achieve the proposed objectives, we sought to highlight the problem based on the exploratory research method of a qualitative nature. Starting initially from a bibliographic review composed of the definitions and concepts of the most relevant themes for the study. Subsequently, the cartographic survey began, showing the delimitation of the proposed study area and characterization of the type of vegetation present, land use, and flooding area, as it is a riverside region, to ascertain possible areas of vulnerability. In possession of the cartographic data, we sought to certify the information obtained through the field survey through observation and photographic records, in addition to verifying the existing anthropization processes such as: pollution by solid waste and domestic effluents, removal of native vegetation, increase in erosion and surface runoff. As a result of this study, there is a technical preservation and revitalization project for the area with the proposal to bring the balance between the urban area and the environment and regulate the unbridled expansion in the bordering areas of the river, guaranteeing the conservation of water quality, ecosystem services, and riparian forest, mitigating the effects of habitat fragmentation and improving the quality of life of the region's population.

The state of Roraima, although it is one of the states in the federation with the greatest water abundance, its use has been made without the proper application of management instruments. In this context, the present research has as its theme the analysis of the challenges for the implementation of charging for the use of water resources in the domain of the state of Roraima. The aim is to list the impediments to charging for the use of water resources in the domain of the state of Roraima. To this end, a bibliographical research was carried out on charging for the use of water resources in Brazil and abroad. Added to this, a systematic review of the literature was carried out in an attempt to find other texts that have already discussed this subject. An exploratory-qualitative research was established as a methodology for this investigation, which is divided into three main phases: a) a bibliographical research added to a systematic review of the literature; b) field research in documentary format applied to the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANA) and the State Foundation for the Environment and Water Resources of Roraima (FEMARH), added to this an informal conversation with two directors of FEMARH and; c) the elaboration of a draft of a government decree that deals with the criteria and parameters for charging for the use of water resources in the domain of the State of Roraima, as the Final Product of this dissertation. Eight factors that impede charging for water use in the state of Roraima were identified: a) Lack of Criteria and Parameters, b) Political and cultural issues, c) Water crisis and organization of residents, d) Absence of trained professionals, e) The transfer of the charge to the consumer, f) Creation of a state basin committee, g) Specific state legislation, h) Reorganization of FEMARH. It was concluded that the impediments are correlated with each other and when implementing the charge it is possible that more will arise, but that the implementation of the charge for the use of water resources in Roraima is necessary and urgent since its absence implies in the perpetuation of the problems of management and, moreover, it is a state with enormous water wealth that requires, therefore, a strong stimulus for its conservation in quality and quantity for present and future generations.

Undoubtedly water is a precious asset above all indispensable to human life, and due to its probable scarcity, arising from the deterioration of water sources with the degradation of the environment by human actions, the supply of drinking water to the population has configured as main themes, taking into account the inequality of access to this essential service, where there must be indiscriminate universalization. Access to water involves the revitalization of watersheds, as well as the concern for conscious use, understanding that it is a finite asset. The analysis of the supply of drinking water will contextualize from the structures that imply the supply to the user, as well as the evidence of the economic and financial balance of the concessionary company of the service, coming from the management systems. Based on the assumption, this research demonstrates the current scenario of drinking water supply in the city of Boa Vista-RR, carried out by Companhia de Águas e Esgotos de Roraima-CAER, solidifying quantitative information on water distribution and evaluating the economic and financial conditions , in the time period involving the years 2015, 2018 and 2021, in order to understand how service provision evolved, punctuating the efficiencies and deficiencies of the system. First, a survey was carried out of the Water Reservation and Distribution Centers - CRD's and tubular wells for underground water collection in the city of Boa Vista, clarifying the Zoning mapping into which the supply of drinking water is divided and the scope of the neighborhoods that comprise it. this zoning, through on-site information carried out at the company itself. Then, a survey was made of the quantities of active connections, consumption, population served, and other data, along with the SNIS, Official Gazettes of the State of Roraima and in the company's registration system, for the years studied. Finally, the financial statements were analyzed, such as the Balance Sheet, Statements of Changes in Shareholders' Equity, Liquidity and Solvency Ratios, where it was found that strong managerial actions are necessary to support the Company's economic and financial weaknesses, to guarantee perpetuity.

The city of Boa Vista, in the state of Roraima, has undergone an intense process of urbanization and its urban fabric has a conventional drainage system. This urbanization, among which the construction of buildings, paving, soil waterproofing and current drainage systems stand out, unbalance the natural environment and drastically change the urban water dynamics. As of 2006, several municipalities created their Master Plans for Urban Drainage. However, until then, the municipality did not adapt. In this sense, this research proposes to show the current urban situation of the area under study, with regard to its physical-territorial aspects, seeking, among the existing alternatives, the types of sustainable drainage suitable for the urban watershed of Boa Vista. Vista/RR, having urban, social, economic and environmental factors as premises for choosing, in the end, preparing a proposal for alternative sustainable drainage techniques for residents of the Jardim Caranã neighborhood, meeting the urban standards of the municipality. For this, it was necessary to carry out field tests to collect data and verify the percolation of water in the soil, and with the most satisfactory results obtained, make use of the sustainability concepts of the Sustainable Drainage Systems considered more adequate to the local reality. After carrying out the characterization of the urban situation and the physical-co-territorial aspects of the neighborhood, the total green area (IAVT) and vegetation cover (ICV) indices were obtained, the impacts on the floodplain found in loco, a survey of soil waterproofing data and the calculation of sustainable rain garden and infiltration trench drainage techniques. As a result, for urban issues, a suboptimal IAVT was found, different from the ICV, which was considered above. As for waterproofing, the neighborhood was considered very permeable, when the rates of permeability and occupation of the lot were surveyed. An infiltration test was carried out in the neighborhood, and later, the rain garden and infiltration trench techniques were calculated, demonstrated through a technical project and the calculations confirmed that the infiltration trench is more efficient, as it manages to store a greater volume of water. However, the two techniques were considered good for the area under study, being able to cooperate a lot in solving the problem of these waters that flow superficially inside the lot.

The granting of the right to use water resources is a classic instrument of command and control, through which the administration authorizes an individual or legal entity, public or private, to use water from a source for human or animal consumption or for any activity. economical. State Law No. 547/2006 points out that the grant is the act by which the state manager defers the implementation of any undertakings that may require the use of surface or underground water resources, which may alter the quantity and quality of water, in addition to possible release of effluents into water bodies. In view of the above, the present study aimed to diagnose the current grants and demands for the use of water resources in the microbasin of the igarapé Carrapato; verifying, from the current grants, the main users of water resources, and the purposes; in addition to delimiting the physiography of the watershed. For that, a database made available by the supervisory body, FEMARH, was used, containing information on properties, grant models, types of users and flow volume of water resources in the microbasin. It was possible to create a microbasin location map using the Geographic Information System with the help of the ArcsGIS 10.8 Software tool. The results indicate the spatial distribution of grants and demands for water resources, concentrated on surface catchment through irrigation, responsible for the greater distribution of water volume in the microbasin, allowing user conflicts over demands for the use of water resources. The research project will contribute to the improvement of the distribution of the use of water resources by informing the community and the supervisory body through the procedures and issuance of permits. Based on the results obtained, an information booklet was prepared on granting the right to use water, aiming to guide users regarding water use legislation, containing procedures for regularizing why and who should do it and which documents should be required and where to request.

Lakes and rivers have been increasingly used by humans as means of leisure and recreation. This work deals with visitation opportunities and the use of water resources as means of recreation. The objective of this dissertation was to evaluate the environmental impacts caused by public visitation and recreation in the main resorts of the Cauamé and Branco rivers located in the urban area of the Municipality of Boa Vista, Roraima. Its methodology was a descriptive, exploratory and field research applying a Rapid Assessment Protocol for Urban Rivers (PARU) and thus defining the impacts that public use can generate on water resources and the environment. Eight beaches were identified in the urban area that are used by the population. According to PARU, four beaches were considered as “good” condition, one beach was considered as “excellent” condition and three beaches as “regular” condition. In all of them the practice of recreational activities was evident. The biggest impacts are related to the discharge of untreated solid waste effluents. On all the beaches it was possible to observe a lot of garbage without proper final destination. With this, it was possible to identify that the beaches located in the extension of the Cauamé River are the beaches that suffer the most impacts due to their easy access, with a much greater demand from visitors. The beaches on the Branco River are accessible only by river transport, and even though they are well visited, they do not suffer the same impact from the population. In view of this, it is concluded that a more active presence of the bodies responsible for tourism and the environment is necessary through the preparation of the area for waste collection, with inspection actions and environmental education programs, sensitization and awareness of visitors about the importance of cleaning these areas to ensure environmental and economic sustainability.

The present research deals with the investigation of per capita consumption and the index of losses in the distribution for the capital Boa Vista of the State of Roraima. Due to the New Sanitation Regulatory Framework, set forth in Law 14.026/2020, the need to formulate strategies to enable access to universal sanitation has become a matter of great prominence today. That way, this study search to contribute in a technical way to the elaboration of a methodology that makes it possible to study and determine the current situation of the city of Boa Vista in relation to the per capita consumption pattern, remaining this differential result by neighborhoods and zones, arranged in the maps in appendix. In addition, the inheritance of the loss rates using the methodology of the Instituto Trata Brasil, considered more current values regarding the supply and distribution of water in the capital, through data provided by Companhia De Água E Esgotos De Roraima - CAER. The methodology used for intuiting the loss rates was data analysis based on the analysis method of the National Sanitation Information System – SNIS, using data provided by the Company. Through the Excel program, it was possible to determine the most relevant statistics for analyzing the current situation of the capital. With the distribution loss index at 56.04%, and the revenue loss index at 62.75% for the year 2021. As for per capita consumption, a specific methodology was used based on the random choice of 05 (five) families in the neighborhoods contained in the capital, in order to determine per capita consumption with more realistic data. The value found for the municipality of Boa Vista was 198.46 L/hab.day in the year 2020. The results of this work identified the problems that intensify these losses, understanding their causes and conditions and the preventive measures applied to this situation. Thus, with an adequate plan of action, it is possible to obtain several benefits such as savings in electricity, labor, and finally the redirection of investments to meet the growth in population demand.

Water security is widely recognized as one of the greatest challenges to social and economic development and with increasing water scarcity, deteriorating quality and inappropriate use, the management of water resources in the Northern Region is becoming more challenging. Radical thinking about water has become necessary due to severe water mismanagement in the country, often leading to unavoidable crisis situations. The general objective of the work is to evaluate the scope and transparency of the State Councils responsible for the management of Water Resources in the North Region. For the development of this work, the minutes of the meetings, resolutions and ordinances of the State Councils were evaluated, obtained through the institutional website of each responsible body, or, when not found, requested via the Electronic System of the Citizen Information Service. Subsequently, the documents were organized, according to the extraordinary and ordinary meetings, and the tabulations differentiating the deliberations of the administrative acts by approving and normative acts in accordance with the current legislation of each Council. The assessment of the scope and transparency of the State Councils responsible for the management of Water Resources in the North region reveals a worrying scenario, with only two states partially complying with the legal requirements. The lack of transparency compromises society's participation and the effectiveness of preservation policies. In addition, the State Councils' ability to act was evaluated negatively, with the majority not fulfilling their obligations established in the competencies and management instruments. The lack of effectiveness of the State Information Systems and the insufficient dissemination of information are also worrying. It is essential that measures be taken to strengthen transparency, access to information and the councils' ability to act, with a view to protecting water resources and sustainable development in the region.

Since 2017, Venezuelan refugees have been living in Roraima state, Brazil. They are vulnerable, and according the number of people arising, emerge diferente types of settlement such: informal, and formal. Multiple stakeholders are supporting these vulnerable group to improve their lives. The venezuelan indigenous flow also increase in Roraima State, in Boa Vista city, they are living since 2017 to 2022 in Pintolandia Shelter, and after this vulnerable group were realocated to indigenous Shelter Waraotuma a Tauranoko, however part of population decided to stay in the past Shelter (Pintolandia), that is now denominated informal settlement/spontaneous occupation Yakera Ine. In Brazil, the lack of adequate sanitation or the wrong perception of it for the local community could carry out diasiases related to health. For humanitarian crises, in collective Spaces related to settlement, exist the minimal international humanitarian standards, there are pointed in Sphere Handbook and aim to protect and garante the right to acess water and sanitation. In the humanitarian relief context acronym WASH means Water, Hygiene and Sanitation. The WASH standards in Sphere are in accordance with the national brazilian politics of water resources, and corelated to Sustenable Development Goals from ONU. In order to understand the situation regarding sanitation in which the vulnerable community of the informal settlement Yakera Ine lives, the WASH parameters were identified according to the applicable Sphere Handbook for the informal settlement, and verified which ones are in accordance with these standards in the settlement. The verification found lack of water in the external bathrooms, and pending maintenance making the use of devices unfeasible, several points of accumulation of still water, both coming from the tap points by the shelter and laundry, as well as from a sewage pit overflowing with black water and lack of adequate waste diposal, and open defecation. This vulnerable group can be severely affected by sanitation-related diseases if it fails to manage some of the problems identified in this study, especially during the rainy season. A highlight is also the amount of solid waste spread throughout the occupation, which will also tend to worsen with the issue of rain season. Based on the identified problems, a sanitation booklet was created for the best management of water resources for the target population.

The study is intended to monitor the water wells in the urban consolidation area of Boa Vista, will have as a search mechanism the association of georeferencing techniques, to map and, subsequently, will use the location data of the wells and water quality, through of the Companhia de Água e Esgoto de Roraima - CAER, this may result in the production, through these results, of a manual that will help to improve the installation of the wells. When it comes to public supply, the capital of the state of Roraima is one of the many Amazonian cities that capture wells, more than 102 water wells are accounted for by CAER (SEPLAN, 2014). Another important fact to remember is the low water treatment in the prevention of waterborne diseases, either because of the culture that the water has good quality, or because of the little incentive for treatment.
