ANALYSIS OF THE APPLICATION OF THE PARAMETERS OF THE ESFERA WASH MANUAL IN THE WARAOTUMA A TUARANOKO SHELTER: PROPOSAL FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A SANITATION BOOKLET
.
In the world the migratory movement, due to poverty, political and religious persecution, wars and natural disasters cause numerous forms of settlement. The genocide in Rwanda in 1994 is one of the most striking examples of forced displacement in Africa. In assisting refugees from Rwanda, in Goma (Democratic Republic of Congo), thousands of people did not receive adequate access to basic means of survival such as food, shelter and access to sanitation, leading to an epidemic of cholera and dysentery, devastating the population already seriously affected by the terrible living conditions they were subjected to (ERIKSSON, 1996). The consequence of the poor humanitarian response, the migratory flow from Rwanda to Goma, was the elaboration of the Esfera Manual (ESFERA, 2018). This Manual was developed to provide the minimum need for a person to have access to dignity in humanitarian emergencies in very scarce contexts and in addition to this manual there is also the 2016 Emergency Sheltering, which is a manual produced by the German Red Cross to shelter emergency, as for emergencies related to public health, especially for refugees and refugee camps, there is Public Health Engineering in precarious situations, carried out in 2010.
