SUMMARY:

Cervical cancer (CCU) results from an exaggerated and disorganized multiplication of cervical cells and is characterized as a serious public health problem. This neoplasia has various associated risk factors. Among them are early sexual debut, at approximately 14 years old, shortly after menarche. Additionally, multiparity stands out, with the first pregnancy occurring at approximately 16 years old and extending reproductive life until 40 years old; and finally, infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV), which has a high prevalence in indigenous populations. Indigenous and migrant populations face several barriers to cervical cancer screening, among which it is important to highlight the difficulty of accessing health services due to physical isolation and difficulty in referring to specialized services, among other factors related to health organization. Another barrier for these populations is the lack of information about the disease, prevention, and even the collection of the Pap smear exam. It is also necessary to understand women's perception of the disease, its signs and symptoms, and what are the main methods for prevention and early detection. This research's main concern is to understand the clinical epidemiological profile of cytopathological exams and the perception of early diagnosis for the prevention of uterine cancer in women from the municipality of Pacaraima.
