SUMMARY:

The need to preserve life is intrinsically linked to the environmental sustainability of its geoheritage. Concentrated efforts to conserve abiotic natural heritage not only safeguard scenic beauty, but also strengthen local communities' cultural ties to their roots. At the same time, the preservation of this environmental and cultural heritage is seen as a valuable opportunity, from the perspective of community involvement, in building a sustainable future through geotourism. Such actions generate an investment in the lasting well-being of the region and its inhabitants, promoting environmental education and public actions that encourage community tourism. The proposal to study geodiversity in the transect between the municipalities of Mucajaí and Caracaraí, along BR-174, is linked to the lack of planning for the use of natural resources related to tourism. In the region it is possible to observe Geodiversity elements such as waterfalls, rapids and mountains if inventoried and quantified within a geotouristic itinerary and with planning for the use of these natural resources through geoconservation strategies, they can be used as sources of income for the local community. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze geodiversity along the route of Caracaraí and Mucajaí, in Roraima, along BR-174, based on the inventory and quantification of geosites that make up the geoheritage of the study area, with the aim of creating a roadmap geotourism. To this end, the methodological steps include inventory, which consists of cataloging possible points and describing them; quantification, to mitigate the subjectivity of geosites; determining the geodiversity index will quantify and demonstrate the special distribution of geosites for routing to be built. Interviews will be carried out in the study area with the aim of understanding the population's Geodiversity, their practice of managing natural resources and the cultural and socioeconomic importance of geosites. Finally, integrating the data from the previous stages, the geotourist itinerary will be created. It is hoped that this study will stimulate awareness about the importance of preserving natural heritage and fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals linked to geotourism, with SDGs 4, 8,11 and 12.
