Warao Community “Yakera Ine”: indegenous immigrant refugee children in the Roraima school system

The objective of this work is to analyze the inclusion of Warao refugee indigenous immigrants in the Roraima school system, residing in an occupation in the Pintolândia neighborhood, in the city of Boa Vista. The research seeks to understand how the Warao perceive and relate to the experience of the school in Boa Vista in relation to the knowledge originating in their places of origin. The research has as its locus the “Warao Yakera Ine Community” and two municipal schools where Warao indigenous children are enrolled. The work develops from an analysis of the history of indigenous education in the state of Roraima, followed by an analysis of the migration process of the Warao started in 2014 to Roraima, the occupation and creation of the community and, finally, the inclusion of children in municipal schools in Boa Vista.
