SUMMARY:

People with Down Syndrome (DS) often present global developmental changes, with a reduction in skills focused on the learning process. In any case, the learning potential of students with DS is evident, even at different paces and, sometimes, with the need to include extra strategies, such as Assistive Technology (AT). Furthermore, when considering the territorial dimension of the country, it is understood that the process of including students with DS in regular schools must take into account the specificities of each context and the individual demands of the students. That said, this research aims to map the characteristics of the use of AT in collaborative teaching by teachers who work with students with DS in a school in the city of Boa Vista - RR and, in addition, produce a technical product as support for improvement and/or improving the use of AT. To this end, teachers from the municipal education network who are working in teaching at least one child with DS will participate in this case study. This will occur through three sources of information that will be analyzed qualitatively: a) semi-structured interviews with teachers; b) observation of actions with the student and analysis of documents produced by teachers for AT strategies; c) analysis of the results of using AT with the student. Finally, it is expected that the technical products (review article on the topic and booklet in e-book format), to be created, will serve as a subsidy both for teachers who already work in the practice of Special Education and for those who will enter the area.
