  • The present study aims to discuss aspects of eroticism in the poetry genre, in Roraima, in the works: Amor Amante by Rosidelma Fraga, Movejo by Sonny Ferseck, Love for those who hate by Elimacuxi and My world and what I see by Eliza Menezes. The choice of the theme of this research is justified by the understanding of the importance of discussing eroticism as relevant, as it is as old as humanity and even though it has been evident in culture and art since the Paleolithic era, there are still taboos, prejudices and, also, , considering the scarcity of research and academic work that addresses the topic in Roraima literature. This research analyzes elements that characterize the characterization of aspects of eroticism present in poems chosen from the works of locally referenced authors. Through the analysis of poetic constructions, it was observed that the female lyrical self is free, dominant, independent and evokes eroticism, having as its surrounding symbolic environment love/sex metaphorized in natural elements, memories, longing, sensuality, sensations and the senses. The erotic in the poems is permeated by lexical constructions and rhythmic sound. The aim of this study is to value the poetry of women writers from Roraima, contributing to the debate for Roraima society, about the importance of knowing the literature produced by women, and their poetic incursions, such as eroticism. In this sense, based on the research theme, we intend to contribute to the deconstruction of myths and prejudices about the erotic in local poetry, since this theme is plural to think about the issues of Roraima's literary historiography in contemporary times.

  • This work aims to present a reading proposal about the history of the literature of Roraima. To this end, using Antonio Candido's “formation” model as a reference, descriptive research was conducted using a historical procedure method, and bibliographic and documentary research were used as technical procedures. The present corpus includes literary texts, both written and oral, belonging to the literary system of Roraima, published in books, leaflets and periodicals, printed and digital, and on CDs and websites, as well as texts, in any type of media (printed, digital, sound, audiovisual, etc.), with information about authors and works from Roraima. Based on the analysis of the corpus, according to the elements of the literary system (work, author, audience) proposed by Candido, the authors and works were divided into formations and trends. Two formations were proposed: “Parente” (indigenous) and “Karaiwa” (nonindigenous). The first is subdivided into the following trends: charm, collection, restoration, and creation. The second was distributed into travellers' reports, classically inspired literature, Roraima composition, and glocal.

  • This dissertation aims to analyze Spanish within the linguistic landscape (LL) context
of the city of Boa Vista, Roraima. To do so, it establishes as its main hypothesis that
Venezuelan migration has driven the multilingual scenario of the capital of Roraima,
highlighting the multifunctionality of Spanish in the local dynamics and culture. The
theoretical framework of this dissertation is based on a sociolinguistic perspective of
linguistic contacts and invokes the theoretical framework of Migration Linguistics
(Zimmermann, García, 2007; Gugenberger, 2007), Linguistic Landscape (Landry,
Bourhis, 1997; Shohamy, Gorter, 2009; Rodríguez, 2012), and studies of diglossia and
bilingualism (Fishman, 1967). The methodology of this study seeks to identify
expressions of this new linguistic landscape through the presence of Spanish in signs,
advertisements, and other textual genres/supports. Data collection involved the
photography and geolocation of 150 images, subsequently analyzed and mapped
using QGIS and Google Earth Pro software. The analysis of these images considers
six criteria: survey and spatial zoning of the LL; identification of spheres of human
activities; identification of spatial scope (public, private, or mixed); tone of writing
(friendly, neutral, or aggressive); degree of ostensiveness (more or less ostensive
(visible, prominent, widespread, elaborate, fixed etc.); and type of support
(conventional or incidental). The results show that Spanish manifests prominently in
various public spaces of Boa Vista, especially in commercial and peripheral areas. In
the Western Zone of Boa Vista, where the presence of the Spanish language stands
out in the linguistic landscape, it reflects a social reality intrinsic to the spatial
organization of the city. This presence marks the need for Venezuelan immigrants to
integrate into local society and the labor market. The change in Boa Vista’s linguistic
landscape presents challenges, such as the lack of bilingual public policies and the
integration of immigrants into the educational system; and opportunities, such as the
appreciation of linguistic and cultural diversity and the enrichment of urban life. This
research contributes to LL studies by detailing analytical criteria and correlating them
with studies of textual genres. Furthermore, it advocates for the inclusion of Migration
Linguistics theory in studies of linguistic contact and LL, especially in border contexts
or involving individuals vulnerable to forced migration. This advocacy aims to avoid a
purely grammatical analysis of immigrants’ textual production, which can reinforce
social stereotypes or linguistic prejudices. The final orientation of this dissertation is to
seek the implementation of public policies that promote bilingualism, interculturality,
and social inclusion of immigrants, especially in the workplace and school settings.

  • Conversation analysis emerged in the 1960s, through the work of Harvey Sacks, Emmanuel Schegloff and Gail Jefferson (1974), focusing on the description of structures, the organization of conversations and interactional gestures in institutional contexts. Around 1980, the scenarios were diversified and expanded to include descriptions and interpretations of speakers' ways of acting and interpreting in relation to others in more spontaneous interactions. In Brazil, conversation analysis began in 1997, introduced by linguist Luiz Antônio Marcuschi. Conversation is a practice in our daily lives, which allows us to speak and interact in different contexts of society. This study proposes to analyze the conversation between traffic agents and Venezuelans in DETRAN/RR traffic inspection approaches and its specific objectives are 1) to describe how the conversation between agents and drivers takes place, 2) to understand how the interaction takes place between interlocutors, 3) as well as identifying communicative difficulties between them. Due to the mass immigration of Venezuelans in the state of Roraima, it has been common for traffic agents to encounter immigrants driving vehicles from Brazil or Venezuela. During the approach, the driver and vehicle documents are requested and checked. If there are irregularities, the driver is informed of the appropriate procedures that will be adopted. To achieve this, there must be communication and interaction between the agent and the person being approached, with both parties needing to understand each other so that there is no misunderstanding, considering that, as they speak different languages, there may be communicative difficulties. The research is based on conversation analysis, through a qualitative approach, based on theorists such as: Kerbrat-Orecchioni (2006), Marcuschi (2003), Timbane (2013), Teixeira (2007), among others; which will provide us with the necessary data to understand how the interaction between those involved in this study takes place. To this end, data were collected from two traffic approaches: 1 and 2, to analyze the conversation between the interlocutors, who were categorized into: inspection agents 1, 2, 3 and 4, and drivers A and B

  • This study aims to investigate the discourses of women with a PhD who work in the
North region of Brazil, reflecting on how they perceive the social and academic world
from their positions within it. Based on this, it also analyzes how gender, race, class
and region of origin shape their careers, contributing to their feeling of inclusion or
exclusion from processes related to their social and academic development. It is a
qualitative research with an interpretative character aided by Netnography
(KOZINETS, 2014), in which the methods for data generation consisted of three
stages: establishment of contact with federal higher education institutions in order to
publicize the research; questionnaire application using the Google Forms tool and
interviews through online meeting platforms, so as to obtain more accurate
information about the trajectories of PhD women linked to these institutions. The data
    were analyzed under the scope of Gender Studies (LUGONES,2007; SEGATO, 2016;
    COLLINS, 1990; CRENSHAW, 1989; FEDERICI, 2017; QUIJANO, 1992; BIROLI,
2018; BENTO, 2022; SCHUCMAN,2020) and the textual elements within the
discourses were analyzed from the perspective of Critical Discourse Analysis using
the criterion of “evaluation”, which consists of the evaluative statements that the
subject expresses in his/her discourses (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001; 2003). Among the
findings of this research, we mention that white participants reinforce meritocratic
discourses and do not reflect deeply on how race socially favors them. In contrast,
non-white participants see themselves as privileged because of their academic
positions, citing race, gender and region of origin as exclusion factors within
academia. Despite social differences, the “gender” factor was pointed out as the
vector of oppression common to all participants

  • The hybrid scenario of the municipality of Caroebe, combined with new horizons of
challenging professional actions, motivated this research. The need arises, exactly,
to reiterate the methodological effectiveness of the didactic sequence in a context
different from the frequent studies. This research aimed to develop a project of a
didactic sequence and to work on textual genres, focusing on the short story, with
8th grade students from Escola Estadual Tereza Teodoro de Oliveira. It aimed to
help students to differentiate between genres, that is, to distinguish communication
situations of practical use of textual genres in everyday life, as well as to provide
students with the internalization of elements of narration belonging to textual genres
of a narrative nature, such as short stories, soap operas, romances, legends, fables,
fanfics, among others. I seek, in the present research, to describe the didactic
sequence elaborated and applied by me in the aforementioned school, based on
the theoretical framework of Schneuwly and Dolz (2004), main exponents of the
Geneva Studies Group, in addition to Bronckart (1999; 2006), Broncardo and Costa-
Hubes (2008). The research carries out a description within a larger contextual
framework in relation to my work as a teacher of basic education, writing about the
project is a way of highlighting a methodology based on the sociodiscursive
interactionist theory that has an educational, didactic bias, which is teaching. Based
on the results found, it can be stated that the proposed objective was achieved. The
main result showed that the students were able to build their own narratives based
on the main elements of the narration, knowing how to identify and distinguish, for
example, time and space, characters, duration of the story, including, in addition,
internalizing paratextual elements, such as cover, back cover, among others. others.

The research consists of identifying Literary Movements in the Amazon, which emerged and, over time, have been building a regional identity, promoting the local culture of the people of each region or state. The object of the research presented here is the circulation in literary movements originating in three states of the Amazon: Pará, with Geração Peixe Frito and Grupo dos Novos, Amazonas, with Clube da Madrugada and Roraima, with Movimento Roraimeira. Therefore, this study carried out a historical survey of movements, authors, works, manifestos, etc. It then became relevant to analyze the trajectory of these groups of writers and poets, in order to understand how circulation influenced the environment and the actions of representatives of the movements, contributing to the Amazonian literary and cultural composition. Knowing the influences, trends, aesthetics, present in these movements, facilitates the perception of local literature, in a context in which there is much to build in relation to identity issues in such a pluralistic space, marked by its colonization process, which still in present times it tends to configure literary circulations. The study, however, will be based on poetic representation, considering it as an art that diffuses thoughts and is present in an effervescent way in the movements to which this research refers, as if the art of playing with words had a revolutionary and liberating character, being the voice that expresses and screams for new dawns. For the study of the concept of circulation, we used the theoretical support of José Luís Jobim (2020), for the interpretative analysis on the circulation in the literary movements of the Amazon, Adrin Figueiredo (2001); Marinilce Coelho (2003); Luciane Easter (2017); Tenório Telles (2019); Rafael Oliveira, Cátia Wankler, Carla Souza (2009); in addition to poets from the Amazon, such as Bruno de Menezes, Abguar Bastos, Jorge Tufic, Luis Bacellar, Eliakim Rufino, Zeca Preto, among others, referenced for having contributed to the formation of the identity of the Amazonian peoples and poetic circulation in the region.

  • The Cia. do Lavrado was a theater group from Roraima, which during 11 years of continuous
creative work developed its dramaturgy, in order to imprint the identity of Roraima in its
activities. From its foundation, already in the naming of the group, this was evident, however,
the recognition of this cultural identity was not immediate, since in its dramaturgical
trajectory many ways of perceiving itself as Roraima were present in its shows. Therefore,
this study arose from the following question: How can dramaturgy contribute to processes of
identity formation? From this problematization, this research aimed to analyze the
contribution of dramaturgy in processes of identity formation. In addition, the absence of
studies on local theater groups in the Graduate Program in Letters at the Federal University of
Roraima (PPGL/UFRR), which address the cultural identity of Roraima, contributed to the
choice of research object – Cia. do Lavrado and its shows: “The pastry and the pie” (2005),
“The farce of the lawyer Pathelin” (2006), “The toilet or the latrine” (2007) and
“Absurdópolis, who forgives us Aristófanes” (2009). In this direction, readings of
theoretical/critical materials (books, theses, dissertations, articles, etc.) and analysis of texts,
photos and videos of these shows were carried out, in order to highlight a crossing of
indigenous culture with regard to the beginnings of theater as language; contextualize the
historical periods that dialogue with the shows of Cia. do Lavrado; discuss the relations
established between Dramaturgy and Cultural Identity; and to identify traces of identity
formation in the analyzed dramaturgy. Thus, the shows were analyzed in the light of theorists
    Bakhtin (1987); Bauman (2005); Demarcy (2012); Hall (2006); Jobim (2020); Pavis (2011);
and Silva (2014). And it was concluded that dramaturgy is a cultural manifestation that forms
identities. It is impregnated with choices, which refer to a socio-historical subject, or to a
group, which makes them according to its needs for meaning in its social space. For this
reason, the construction of scenic meanings present in the dramaturgy of Cia. do Lavrado
implied the manipulation of identity traits, with the intention of seeking an identification with
the Roraima public and, thus, reiterating a singular trajectory referring to its place of
belonging. It was also affirmed the importance of broadening the look on Roraima's cultural
identity, so that it is not fixed in just one culture, and that the daily life of Roraima is a trace
of this identity present in theatrical dramaturgical processes. And, when talking about the
beginnings of theater, whether worldwide or in Roraima, it is necessary to support the
collaboration of the original peoples, as bearers of spectacular cultural manifestations, which
since prehistory have influenced the development of human language, therefore, of the
theatrical language. Therefore, it was understood that the contribution of dramaturgy in
processes of identity formation, in particular, of Cia. do Lavrado, was manifested in the
affirmation of its identity present in dramaturgical constructions, which in scene portrayed the
daily life of the state of Roraima in different contexts.

  • This research connects art, writing and ecology through the use of the banana tree
trunk and the transformation of the fiber into paper and other objects, with the
application of Wapichana indigenous graphics from Roraima. From the experiences of
painting bodies, dancing, singing, drawing graphics on handmade paper with banana
fiber, among other activities, the communities' relatives show that artistic creation is
intrinsically linked to everyday life and the work carried out collectively. Art also
provides us with complements with other relatives at fairs and exhibitions. Art is
transformative and allows us to reaffirm the collective strength of our ancestry. And
when this strength stops misunderstanding, the fibers from the banana tree trunks can
bring another level of wisdom. Through the author, the power of indigenous women is
present in each work of art and in each gesture of her as an indigenous artist and
researcher. For this force of nature to present itself to someone, there always has to be
someone capable of feeling it, hearing it and carrying it. In the dissertation, the author's
hands were blessed by Vovó Bananeira so that everything that is being created by him
is not superficial and has a connection with the deepest. The ancestors and each
material come together and creation takes place. Therefore, this research connects the
historical process of Wapishana arts from the ancestral memory that manifests itself in
the author. We, native peoples, developed our own ways of producing artistic work and
research with our communities, which did not fit into the notion of our Western art. This
diversity of knowledge and practices together express our own history and cultural
    customs.

  • The present study aims to understand how intercultural social movements established on social networks using written language to communicate can contribute to the literacy process of Makushi, Wapishana and Taurepang indigenous students in Roraima. The research problem is "how do criticai intercultural social relations, established on social networks and the constant use of written language to communicate, contribute to the emancipatory literacy process of Makushi, Wapishana and Taurepang indigenous students in Roraima?" The proposed work understands that digital literacy occurs when indigenous people use technology with autonomy and criticai capacity to improve their educational and daily activities. Therefore, by providing such a tool and integrating it into classroom practice, indigenous schools can develop the experience of students using resources from the intercultural movement on social networks, honoring posts by indigenous people to work on criticai literacy, digital inclusion and digital proficiency together.

  • The present dissertation aims to investigate multiliteracies and the technologies
underlying the teaching practices adopted by the teachers responsible for teaching
the Portuguese language at the Professor Camilo Dias State Militarized College in
Boa Vista, Roraima. Additionally, it seeks to understand the implications of these
multiliteracies in the teaching of Portuguese language post-COVID-19 pandemic,
which require complex understandings of the role of technologies and their
contribution to a teaching practice grounded in digital literacies and interdisciplinarity,
in line with quality parameters in the school context. The theoretical framework aligns
with Applied Linguistics (AL) and studies on new literacies and multiliteracies in
language teaching. The qualitative research was conducted with three teachers who
teach Portuguese language classes during the 2022 academic year, specifically in
the 6th grade of Elementary School and the 2nd and 3rd years of High School.
Research data were collected through field visits, using various methods and
instruments, such as direct and participatory observation in classes, field diary
writing, questionnaires, photo and audio recordings, semi-structured video-recorded
interviews, and document analysis. These data, collected to encompass the profile,
professional trajectory, and pedagogical practices of the teachers responsible for
teaching Portuguese language at this educational institution, were analyzed from the
perspective of Textual-Discursive Analysis (TDA). Contributions of this work include
the analysis of multiliteracies as a pedagogical strategy in Portuguese language
teaching, providing insights for the improvement of educational practices.
Furthermore, the research contributed to filling a knowledge gap in the field, as there
are still few studies that investigate in-depth the implications and potential of
multiliterate approaches in the specific context of Portuguese language teaching with
the mediation of digital technologies in Roraima. Finally, the study also provides a
more complex understanding of the relationship between digital technologies and
teaching practices, considering the school context and its influence on the
development of linguistic and communicative skills of students.

  • The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the effects of coloniality in rural education
and how it affects the teaching of literature. However, the expression “field” reveals
itself as a contemporary term that characterizes a social and historical space, not
restricted to the subordinate condition of urban centers. That said, some questions
emerge: to what extent does the reading practice in education continue to be practiced
from a colonial perspective? How to assume, in the ambience of rural education,
decolonial postures? To what extent does the idea of literary literacy contribute to
breaking the colonizing process that, sometimes, is still in force in didactic-pedagogical
practices? Based on the search for answers to the aforementioned questions, this
dissertation seeks to analyze literary literacy at the Albino Tavares State School,
located in the Nova Amazônia Settlement Project, in the municipality of Boa Vista,
having as an analytical mediation the decolonial thinking from Mignolo (2003); Césaire
    (2006); Quijano (2000, 2005); Ballestrin (2013); Bernardino-Costa and Grosfoguel
(2016), among others. Furthermore, the methodological approach initially favored field
and bibliographical research through a descriptive, qualitative and exploratory
approach. The results of the research allow us to infer that the perspective of the
decolonial approach in rural education through literary literacy is configured as a fruitful
instrument in the teaching-learning process with a view to the emancipation of the
subject-reader, as well as a space for redefining the identity of the peasantry
    roraimense.

  • Roraima society presents linguistic, cultural, racial diversity, among others, in its most
varied spaces. Multiculturalism has been a hallmark of the state since its formation, as
it was already inhabited by indigenous peoples, it receives Brazilian migrants from
different regions, and since 2015, due to the serious crisis that broke out in the
neighboring country, Venezuela, the state welcomes these foreigners who arrive in
search of refuge. Given this reality, the school, as a socializing space, has received
Venezuelan students daily. In this sense, the general objective of the dissertation is to
reflect on the teaching practices used in Portuguese language classes for Brazilian
and Venezuelan students in the 7th year of PE at a state public school in Boa Vista.
Bringing the following specific objectives: 1) Investigate the treatment that theoretical
perspectives attribute to the teaching of PL teaching for multicultural contexts; 2)
understand the theoretical-methodological procedures suitable for teaching
Portuguese language to Venezuelan students; 3) Discuss methods for teaching LP
with approaches aimed at the multilingual and multicultural context of Roraima. To
achieve the objectives, we used collaborative research that involves the
autoethnographic approach and the qualitative method, through the analysis and
interpretation of the researcher teacher's language practices in this school context. The
locus of the investigation took place in a public school in the state Elementary School
II network, located in the central area of the capital Boa Vista/RR and has the years
2021 and 2022 as a time frame. For our theoretical support we turned to authors such
    as: Bakhtin , Volóchinov (2006), Barbosa and São Bernardo (2017; 2015; 2013);
    Bortoni-Ricardo (2014; 2008; 2005); Candau(2013; 2011; 2008; 2000); Geraldi (2015;
    2013; 2001; 1984); Zambrano (2021; 2019), and others. Multiculturalism is a reality in
schools in Roraima, it receives indigenous students, Brazilians from other federative
entities, Guyanese, and since 2015, it has received a significant number of Venezuelan
migrants. Therefore, it is important that there is a commitment, not only from the
teacher, but from members of management, coordination, and others who make up
these contexts, in serving these subjects through practices that are based on
welcoming approaches, which enable the interaction of these students in this context.
space. The teacher, as a mediator in the teaching process, needs to be in a continuous
research process, rethink and re-signify his practice, as the current situation demands
a new way of teaching – methodological. In view of these notes, there is an urgent
need for continued training and a rethinking of initial training curricula that is based on
a multicultural, intercultural perspective, teaching LP from a welcoming perspective
and as an additional language, aiming at the effective insertion and valorization of this
Venezuelan student in school and also in society.

  • This study is part of the research project Description and History of Portuguese in Roraima
(PVO546-2023). Based on a geolinguistic hypothesis that the region investigated is based on
different dialectal matrices, given the large migration from other regions of Brazil, this
dissertation aims to map and describe the pronominal variation tu/você in the Portuguese
language spoken in Roraima in spatial terms, proposing to investigate which of these pronouns is
the most recurrent and which conditioners are most relevant in this process. To this end, this
    dissertation is based on the Theory of Linguistic Variation and Change (Weinreich; Labov;
Herzog, 2008 [1968]; Labov, 2008 [1972]). The corpus of this research is made up of statements
extracted from 24 informants from the Voice Podcast channel, which conducts interviews with
“personalities” from Roraima and makes them available on the YouTube platform. This research
selects informants who were born in Roraima and informants who were born in another state and
have lived in the state of Roraima for at least ten years. The interviews should be of the survey
type (D2), the interviewer and one interviewee, selected and transcribed from May 2022 to April
2023, with broadcast on the Voice Podcast channel from October 6, 2021 to February 23, 2023.
After data collection in the interviews, the analysis is carried out using the R programming
language (Core Team, 2023), considering the following sociolinguistic variables: (a) gender (12
    women and 12 men), (b) age group (1st: 15 to 35 years old, 2nd: 35 to 45 years old, 3rd: over 45
years old), (c) education (Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education), (d)
place of birth (Roraima, another state), (e) time of residence in Roraima (+ than 10 years, + than
    20 years, + than 30 years), (f) profession, (g) syntactic function, (h) reference, (i) textual
sequence, ( j) type of sentence and (k) type of speech. The collection results in 1361 data, with
the highest occurrence of você, percentage of 75%, indication of dialectal accommodation (the
longer you are in Roraima, the greater the use of você). Among the 11 variables listed for this
research, the social variable ‘profession’ emerges as the factor that most influences the alternation
of tu/você. As far as we know, this variable has not yet been studied in researches in the area of
sociolinguistics that analyze the pronominal variation tu/você in spoken Portuguese. In the sample
of this dissertation, there are informants from professions that are closer to the public, such as
singer, influencer, writer, etc., and who show greater use of the variable tu, while informants from
professions that are more distant from the public, such as police, attorney, businessman, etc., are
more likely to use the variable você. The results of this study, based on a different corpus
formation from what has already been done in variationist sociolinguistic research, converge with
the results of studies that use sociolinguistic interviews or dialectological questionnaires, such as
Costa (2013) and Nogueira (2021), which investigate the pronoun variation tu/você in the North
part of Brazil and include the state of Roraima. In both methodologies, the results indicate that in
Roraima speech, the use of você stands out.

  • The study addresses the process of literary production, circulation and reception on
the web, especially in the authors Eli Macuxi, Eliakin Rufino, Jacinta Santos and Sony
Ferseck. The justification of the research is based on an analytical observation and the
perception of the need to think theoretically about the aspects of this literature locally
referenced in virtual spaces. In addition to verifying the incidence in Roraima literature
in the spaces of virtual sociability, we propose the analysis of such literary productions
of Roraima poets and writers, as well as reflect on their receptivity on the web. In the
theoretical scope, the research uses several texts on production, literary circulation
and reception, such as Ginzburg's text (1989), which highlights the importance of
experience as an indication in the construction of knowledge, and of the literary
persona that is presented on social networks. In the theoretical path, as a
substantiation of the literary objects analyzed, we investigated the relevance of the
Roraimeira cultural movement in the formation of a culture with its own aspects. The
analysis sought to draw characteristic profiles for literary productions in Roraima, such
as: place of speech, nature, indigenous ancetralised, and racial issues, etc. The virtual
spaces used as sources of research were the Blog Poesia Pura, by the poet Eli Macuxi,
the Facebook page of the poets Eliakin Rufino and Sony Ferseck and the virtual
community Recanto das Letras, where the poet Jacinta Santos broadcasts her literary
writing. In this sense, we focus on verifying the authors' modes of interaction with the
"following" public on social networks, as these interactions highlight regional and
universal issues that testify to a permanent debate, and under construction, about the
literature produced in the Extreme North of the country.
